We’ve put together these frequently asked questions to help answer common queries and make planning your stay as easy as possible.

Before your stay

How far is the house from London?

London is 90 miles from the house, taking between 2 hours and 2 hours 40 minutes depending on route selected and the time you leave London.

How far is the house from the Midlands?

Birmingham is 2 hours 29 minutes from the house, 138 miles.

How far is the nearest station?

Thetford Station is six miles away from the house, an easy ten-minute drive/taxi journey. Thetford Station is 30 minutes from Cambridge and Ely, both major hubs with connections from London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester.

Beds and layout

Vicarage House and Pool House sleep 14 in seven double bedrooms. All beds are pocket-sprung with mattress toppers.

Located in the Pool House are three downstairs bedrooms, one super king, one king and one double.

In all, there is one super king, four super kings which split into full-size twins, one king, and one double. There is a twin bedroom with good hanging space suitable for two children or one adult, available on request.

The layout is available on the website, where there are floor plans for the whole property.

Beds are made up to accommodate your party in the way which suits you and your guests. The bed linen is Egyptian cotton, all white with fluffy white towels.

Dogs

We welcome two well-behaved dogs. Complete provision for our doggy guests include dog beds, dog crates, dog treats, water bowls, towels, poo bags are provided so you do not need to bring them, making packing for your holiday simpler. Dogs are not allowed on sofas and beds.

There is a small, additional cleaning charge for each dog.

What happens when something goes wrong?

The lead housekeeper lives along the lane from the house. She will help with any issues. The owners are also available during your stay. The house, the plumbing and the machines are checked, serviced and renewed and any item which is not sufficiently robust is replaced. This reduces the chances of things failing to operate during your stay. The housekeeper and owners can increase or decrease the
heating remotely.

Before your stay

Pre arrival, guests are given access to TouchStay, a digital guide to the house and the locality, helping you plan your holiday.

A rare provision, which the owners believe makes such a difference, is the housekeeper’s tour of the house. When guests arrive, she shows them round, explaining how everything works and where everything is so you can relax immediately and enjoy your holiday.

Our housekeeper leads a team who will happily babysit, lay tables, clear breakfast or walk your dog. She is at your beck and call to help, whenever needed, so your holiday does not miss a beat.

On Arrival

How far is the beach?

Brancaster is the closest, forty-five miles (31 miles) from the house.

How far are the Norfolk Broads?

Thirty-seven minutes (29 miles) from the house to the Broads.

Parking

There is parking for at least ten cars. No need to car share or struggle to find parking.

Heating and Comfort

The main house is centrally heated with radiators. The two sitting rooms have open fires. We provide logs, kindling, firelighters for your whole stay.

The Pool House has underfloor heating and a log burner in the Games Room. There is a firepit on the rear terrace, surrounded by benches, to allow you to enjoy the garden into the evening.

Wifi quality/mobile signal

The property has superfast fibre broadband across the 7000Sq ft property. This allows our guests to simultaneously stream TV programmes on multiple TVs. There is excellent mobile signal at the house.

What you will find at the house

A store cupboard contains oils, vinegars, sauces, flours, sugars, herbs and spices, Nespresso capsules, ground coffee, plungers, milk, teas of various types to suit all tastes.

Loo rolls, bin bags and dishwasher tabs are provided for the duration of your stay. Towels, bed linen, Bramley toiletries and hairdryers in every room. Recipe books aplenty are all supplied, together with a library of novels, DVDs and up-to-date magazines.

Equipment for self-catering including Magimix, stick whisk, electric whisk, nutri bullet, cakes tins, mixing bowls and serving dishes.

TVs

Multiple TVs located in multiple TVs enable you to stream your favourite show or to watch that all important match – no discussions or arguments, all very easy.
