COVID 19 REASSURANCE

Over the 12 years in the hospitality sector, Katie and I have steered a steady course through global recessions, ash-cloud issues and Brexit. However, the Covid-19 outbreak feels unprecedented.

In view of this, we would like to give our forthcoming guests reassurance:

  • External specialists in defogging and technical cleaning will clean the house after guests leave prior to our own housekeepers coming to the house to carry out their usual procedure of cleaning and preparing the house for guests

  • We have always upheld exceptionally-high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at Vicarage House which has earned us a Five-Star rating from Norfolk Cottages and a Gold Standard from VisitEngland

  • Many guests mention these high standards in our 5* TripAdvisor reviews

  • We have always cleaned kitchens, bathrooms, floors and laundry with anti-bacterial products.

  • We have expanded this to ensure all frequently-touched areas such as door handles, tv remotes etc are included in the anti-bacterial cleansing regime of the whole property. This should give you extra comfort.

  • Loo rolls and paper tissues will be provided as usual

  • Paper towels for hand-drying will be provided as well as soft towels – the choice is yours

  • All bins are lined to ensure hygiene  All doors can be left open with the use of doorstops which are provided

We all have a role to play to guarantee guests at Vicarage House remain healthy. If you are showing any Covid-19 symptoms before your stay, however mild, you should follow the latest NHS guidance and self-isolate.

Vicarage House provides the perfect environment to escape from Covid-19, away from crowds and in the seclusion of its six-acre grounds. You can enjoy the company of friends and family in a relaxing environment, eating and sleeping well with plenty of home and on- site entertainment and therapy. You can walk and cycle in the fields and forest which surrounds us without meeting a soul!

The gaps between stays are more than 24 hours, leaving the house risk-free and giving the house keepers plenty of time to deep-clean between stays.

The cleanliness of Vicarage House has always been taken seriously and continues to be so:

  • We are giving extra attention to those frequently touched areas, such as door handles, tv remote controllers, telephone, kitchen appliances and counter surfaces

  • Our housekeepers have checklists for cleaning to include such items as house keys

  • Our housekeepers will continue to clean in gloves

  • We carry out a technical clean of the three dishwashers between each stay

  • We provide hand sanitisers and/or anti-bacterial hand wash (to the extent available) in addition to the luxury L’Occitane and Aesop hand wash and shampoos and soaps

  • We provide anti-bacterial washing-up liquid

  • We suggest you bring your own sanitisers should you have extra faith in your own products

  • There is no need to expose yourself to supermarket shopping. We suggest you arrange home deliveries at least ten days prior to your stay as they are very busy.

  • Table tennis bats are cleaned but please bring your own should you wish.

  • We will clean tennis racquets and badminton racquets

On your arrival

  • The cleansed house key can be collected from the key safe in the yard

  • The current environment requires us to change the format of our meet-and- greet welcome

  • Our House Manager, Vicky will show you around by WhatsApp or provide instructions over the telephone.

  • Detailed instructions about the running of the house and operations of the appliances are provided in the House Manuals

  • Vicky will be available to answer questions at any time on WhatsApp and by phone as are the owners

We know you do not need to be reminded to follow the Government advice below in order to help reduce risk, protecting yourselves, our housekeeping team and future guests:

  • If you are feeling unwell during your stay with a high temperature (above 38.7 degrees), a continuous cough or with any symptoms currently advised by the government, please advise our House Manager immediately as we have a duty of care to all our staff and guests staying after you. A thermometer is available within our first aid provisions.

  • Please wash your hands thoroughly and regularly with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds – or use hand sanitiser gel which will be provided;

  • Catch all coughs and sneezes in a tissue and then dispose in the bins provided. We would request you seal the bin liners at the end of your stay;

  • Our staff are practicing all the above and are kept regularly updated with the latest Government advice.

For any further information, please feel free to contact us.

With our very best wishes for your continued good health
